I am a life-long creative.

As a kid, I filled sketchbooks and assignment sheets with drawings, made roses out of duct tape, and designed intricate structures in the sandbox video game Minecraft.

This passion to create extended into middle school and high school, where I studied drawing, painting, and graphic design. I honed my skills and eventually took AP Studio Art for my last two years in high school. My concentration was painting and I received the highest score possible on my AP portfolio and also earned a Scholastic Gold Key Award for my paintings. Through that experience, I learned how to document my artistic process from ideation to the final product and how to effectively communicate the themes that inform my body of work.

Despite my desire to pursue art and design post-high school, my parents insisted I start college as an Engineering major due to my strengths in STEM. But it didn’t feel right. I couldn’t imagine art not being a part of my life, so I searched for an area of study at the intersection between design and analytical thinking. My search ended after discovering a path to the creative, technological, and research-based world of UI/UX, Product, and Web Design.
Presently, I am a junior at the University of Connecticut, pursuing a BFA in Digital Media & Design with a concentration in Web/Interactive Media Design. I have mastered Figma, Adobe XD, WordPress, Photoshop, and Illustrator; and learned how to code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Along with my academics, I am actively engaged in the professional sphere as a UI/UX Designer with the UConn Digital Experience Group, where I design and front-end code websites for the UConn research community. Further, I will be working as a Digital & UX Design Intern over the summer for WORX, a branding, digital, and marketing agency in Connecticut, and I will also be working as the Graphic & Multimedia Specialist Intern in the 2024-25 academic year for the UConn Center for Career and Professional Development.

Among my multiple UX design projects, my mHealth app design titled FitPal stands out as a proud achievement. Prior to completing this project, I had never designed an app and I did not know anything about the UI/UX design process. Despite being thrown in the deep end, I was determined to grow and learn. Working independently, I spent hours researching how to create user personas, empathy maps, and user journey maps; and how to design and prototype interactions in Figma. This project taught me that even if I didn’t have experience in a certain area, my self-discipline and motivation would push me to achieve my goals. On top of that, my efforts earned me recognition and I received a 2023 Connecticut Art Directors’ Club Excellence Award for FitPal.

Outside of work and school, I would describe myself as thoughtful, whimsical, and an old soul. I love collecting vinyl, thrifting, rock climbing, and spending quality time with friends. Overall, I am not just a designer, I am a dedicated student and professional, blending creativity and technology to create impactful, accessible, and visually pleasing experiences for all users.
